New Qualification!

Here I am in Wellington, on 21 November 2024, celebrating passing the top exam in global TA psychotherapy (TSTA) with my newly qualified CTA colleagues. It is 25 years since I first qualified as a TA psychotherapist (CTA) and for most of those years I have been teaching and supervising therapists in both Transactional Analysis and in the importance of touch, right across the globe.

This was a gruelling exam process, possibly one of the toughest in the world, which started with a weekend assessment in Paris in 2015 and then involving a further 9 years of additional advanced training and supervision, hundreds of hours of logged and supervised work and then three ‘live’ exams in front of three different panels of experienced ‘elders’ of TA at Wellington from Denmark, the UK, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

Here, I had to demonstrate my knowledge of TA theory, ethics and philosophy of training and answer gruelling questions about my live demonstrations of both teaching and supervision.
