Leaking Home Cladding

A mate of mine went through something similar with an older place out west. He started with a proper inspection first, then spoke to a builder who actually understood recladding and remediation, not just general repairs. That made a big difference because the issue wasn’t only the outside cladding — there were a few hidden areas that needed fixing properly before the new exterior went on. For Auckland, I’d probably look for someone who deals with recladding, leaky home repairs and renovations together, because it can turn into a bigger project pretty fast. I came across when helping him compare options, and they seemed focused on Auckland recladding, renovations, new builds and commercial work, so they looked more relevant than a basic handyman-type builder.

One thing I’ve learned from watching neighbours do major building work is that the planning stage matters more than people think. The smoother projects usually had one main contractor coordinating things, rather than the owner trying to chase designers, council steps, trades and timelines separately. It seems boring at the start, but it saves a lot of stress later.
